Managing Principal: Douglas Poffinbarger II, CEM, CLEP, LEED AP. Doug is a 25 year veteran in the energy and utility business with a BS in Mechanical Engineering, several AEE certifications (CEA, CEM, CLEP), a USGBC LEED Accredited Professional and a licensed general contractor. He is an industry leader in energy and resource efficient sustainable green design. Doug has developed and managed more than $160 million of energy efficiency, demand response and renewable energy retrofit projects for various types of commercial, industrial and institutional customers. He has also developed various software products for energy and water analysis in residential, multi-family and commercial buildings. He likes to help customers solve their energy problems, save money and leave a lighter environmental footprint. Currently, Doug serves on several energy steering committees for large corporations and is on the Board of Directors for three non-profits: cleanventure.org, lapower.org and aeesocal.org. He is also past President of the Association of Energy Engineers. Principal, Government Solutions: Chuck Brands, LEED AP. Chuck is a officer and service-disabled veteran of the US Navy with over 21 years experience in high tech project management. His Navy experience includes high tech weapons and delivery systems (AEGIS), force protection activities and integrated scenario-based training. Prior to his enlistment, he founded and managed a small business specializing in building energy efficiency and super-insulation measures. Chuck is also founding Chair of the American Institute of Architecture’s (San Diego Chapter) Committee on the Environment. While managing PE Consulting Government Solutions, he also serves as Director of non-profit United GREEN (Grass Roots Environmental and Energy Network). Director of Engineering: W. Alan Gold, P.E., LEED AP. Alan is a mechanical engineer and registered in multiple Western States. He is a 45 year veteran in the HVAC and energy business. He has designed and engineered more than $200 million of energy efficient retrofits and new HVAC systems. He is an active ASHRAE technical committee member and helps set comfort systems design standards used world wide. Alan is also founding member of AEE Portland. Director of Architecture: Open. Managing Consultant, Energy Procurement: Jackson Mueller. Jackson is a veteran in energy procurement with over 40 years experience in the energy and utility industry, supporting US and international clients. Mr. Julian specializes in supporting end-use consumer's energy supply requirements. A significant portion of his work focuses on western region power issues, particularly in California, Arizona, Nevada and Montana. Managing Consultant, Project Finance: Gene Beck, CLP. Gene is a veteran in project finance, taxes and leasing with over 25 years experience. Gene has a strong financial and construction background and has successfully financed many large (multi-million dollar) and small performance contract projects. He is one of less than 250 certified leasing professionals in the world. The CLP designation sets the standard for professionalism in the leasing industry. Gene has successfully financed hundreds of green building and renewable energy projects, in part because of his keen technical understanding of the construction industry and his long career of public/private partnerships.

With an exceptional 35-year background in management consulting to institutions and private business, Fred spearheads our net-zero energy practice for K-12 schools. The core mission of this practice is to help schools move towards energy self-sufficiency, collaborating with our financial and energy industry partners to deliver sustainable energy solutions that maximize the financial benefits to the schools while achieving significant environmental and educational goals. Managing Consultant, Institutional Solutions: Stanford A. Rollins. Stanford has been intimately involved in the development and financing of energy generation and energy-efficiency projects for corporate and governmental clients throughout Southern California; inclusive of thermal co-generation plants, energy-efficiency retrofits, extensive lighting retrofits, and HVAC system upgrades. As Managing Director of Project Finance unit of Providence Capital, a Los Angeles based equipment leasing and project finance company, since 1995, has been integral to the analysis and design of hundreds of energy efficiency and power generation projects across the Western United States. While working with PE Consulting, Stanford has been an active participant in Utility sponsored energy-efficiency training courses, and is currently preparing for the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design accreditation exam. Principal Advisor, Utility Solutions: Mark Juergensen. Mark is a 25 year veteran and recognized leader in the power and utility industry. Mark is a developer of traditional and alternative energy projects. He is past President of the LA Power Association and served on the California EPA Regulatory Reform Task Force for Power Generation. He has chaired sessions at over twenty (20) conferences throughout North America on deregulation in the utility industry. He co-founded Predict Power, an experienced industry and technical team to deliver cutting edge business intelligence software to utilities and companies. Prior to that, he was a senior manager for Caterpillar’s gas turbine division, assisting in establishing its distributed generation business. |
